Steph Lomurro

stephanie@meldlaw.com

Stephanie “Steph” Lomurro is the Managing Partner of Manzi Epstein Lomurro & DeCataldo, LLC.  Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney — a designation held by fewer than 2% of active attorneys in the State — her practice is dedicated entirely to Family Law, including divorce, custody, parenting time, alimony, child support, distribution of assets and debts (including division of marital business interests), adoptions, prenuptial agreements, domestic violence matters, post-divorce disputes (changes in spousal or child support, retirement, and modifications of custody or parenting time arrangements), and any other issue that may impact a family in transition.

Steph takes the time to understand each client’s goals and priorities before developing a case strategy. That strategy may include resolving issues outside of court through mediation or settlement conferences, but in high-conflict cases, litigation may be necessary. Holding a Certificate in Trial Advocacy from the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, Steph considers herself a settlement-minded attorney who is equally prepared to litigate. She works closely with her clients to determine the approach best suited for each case.

In addition to representing individual clients, Steph is a qualified Rule 1:40 Family Law Mediator. In that role, she serves as a neutral third party who facilitates negotiations and helps parties reach a resolution. Known for her creativity and direct approach to problem solving, she is regularly appointed by the court and selected by colleagues to mediate complex and highly contested cases, offering those services both in-person and by Zoom. Steph also regularly serves as a Parenting Coordinator in cases with co-parenting challenges and is approved to serve in both capacities in matters involving active Restraining Orders.

Steph is committed to ensuring that all parties in a proceeding are properly represented, particularly those who cannot advocate for themselves. She is regularly appointed to serve as Court Appointed Counsel for incapacitated individuals in guardianship proceedings and as a Guardian ad Litem, giving a voice to children in contested litigation.

After graduating from New York Law School, Steph clerked for the Honorable Sallyanne Floria (Ret.), former Presiding Judge of the Family Part, Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex Vicinage. Following her clerkship, Steph joined a prominent family law firm in Bergen County before becoming a Partner at Schwartz Lomurro Family Law, LLC, in Union County. In 2022, she became Managing Partner of Manzi Epstein Lomurro & DeCataldo, LLC. While Steph primarily works out of the firm’s West Orange office, she is available by appointment at its Hoboken and East Brunswick locations.
